This Policy explains what personal information Clavis Sinica Limited (“we”) collects through clavissinica.com, why we collect it, and your rights over it. We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, and we apply equivalent care for visitors in other regions.
1.What we collect
- Order information — your name (if given) and email address, which we need to take payment and deliver your Product.
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details (such as the last four digits and card brand) but never your full card number.
- Usage information — basic, privacy-respecting analytics about how pages are used (for example which pages are popular), collected in aggregate. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell your data.
- Correspondence — any message you send us through the Contact page or by email.
2.How we use it
- to process your order and deliver your Product;
- to send order-related email (confirmation, delivery, and support replies);
- to provide customer support and handle refund requests;
- to keep records we are required to keep, and to detect and prevent fraud;
- to understand, in aggregate, how the Site is used so we can improve it.
We do not send marketing email unless you have asked us to, and you can opt out at any time.
3.Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers that make the Site work, and only as far as needed:
- Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com/privacy);
- Resend — sending transactional email (resend.com privacy);
- our hosting provider, which stores the Site and order records on secure servers.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. We may disclose information if required by law.
4.Cookies and analytics
We use only the cookies needed for the Site and checkout to function, plus a privacy-respecting analytics tool that measures aggregate traffic without tracking you across other websites. You can block cookies in your browser; checkout may not work fully if you do.
5.Where your data is held, and for how long
Our providers may store data on servers outside New Zealand (for example in Singapore, the United States or the EU). We keep order records for as long as needed to deliver your Product, provide support, and meet legal and tax obligations, after which we delete or anonymise them.
6.Your rights
You may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it where we are not required to keep it. To make a request, email support@clavissinica.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. If you are in New Zealand and are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
7.Children
The Site is intended for adults purchasing educational materials. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Where our materials are used by children, that use is arranged by a parent, teacher or institution.

We may update this Policy. The current version is the one published here, with the date above.
