Hanzi API

Turn the structure and etymology of Chinese characters into an API call in your product.

The Clavis Sinica character database can expose the following as APIs for developers (currently invite / enquiry-based, with open access planned):

Planned endpoints

• Etymology breakdown: input a character → components, semantic/phonetic parts, etymology (CN/EN).
• Visual lookup: find characters by shape / component / structure — "look up without pinyin".
• Atlas / flashcard generation: input a list → a full set of atlases or flashcards (PDF/EPUB/image).
• Stroke / structure data: stroke order and structure for 20,000+ characters.

Note: to ensure quality and stability, the API is enquiry-based for now; we will propose access and pricing based on your usage and use case.
